A review: Cultivation of plant-parasitic nematodes: General principles and methods

Abstract
The ability to culture organisms is always of great
benefit to their scientific study, and sometimes simply essential. Cultures
ensure that a steady supply of live material is available for teaching and
research, eliminating the need for repeated sampling of inaccessible or
temporally fluctuating habitats in search of living specimens. Cultures also
provide all stages of development for observation, demonstration and
experiments and allow for more standardized methods and for easier corroboration.
