Abstract
Effective collaboration between extension
workers and researchers is fundamental to achieving sustainable agriculture.
When these two groups work closely together, they ensure that scientific
research is effectively translated into practical solutions for farmers.
Extension workers play a critical role in disseminating research findings and
training farmers to adopt resource-efficient practices, such as precision
agriculture, water conservation techniques, and integrated pest management. At
the same time, researchers benefit from the field insights and feedback
provided by extension workers, allowing them to refine and adapt their
innovations to real-world challenges. This synergy not only improves the
efficient utilization of resources but also promotes environmentally
sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices. Ultimately, the
collaboration between extension services and researchers drives agricultural
advancements that balance productivity with the preservation of natural
ecosystems, contributing to long-term food security and resource
sustainability. Agricultural extension acts as a bridge between research and
practice. In this article, we will learn about the relationship between
extension worker and researcher. Also, how extension workers play a critical
role in bridging this gap and how important an extension worker in famer
development.
